Breastfeeding Mama.

Happy to be able to say we have made it to 4 months EBF!

Super happy about this! Before I had Skye I was worried about making enough milk and how I would know if she was getting enough. But it has all come naturally and we know what works for us and I love the bond that it gives us. I'm so glad that I have be able to breast feed as I know some struggle with it. I was very determined that I would breast feed and never even considered formula for Skye. I think you need to be very determined to keep at it. For me it was the only option as I knew it was best for my daughter and I didn't see the point of wasting money on something I could produce for her for free!

From the first time we tried feeding, she latched on immediately so we had no problems there, but at around 2 months, I began to feel sore again. I thought we had thrush but the doctor didn't agree and my health visitor sent me to see a feeding specialist to check her latch was correct. We battled through and I continued to wash everything daily and boil her dummies etc just incase it was thrush.
Eventually one day it just went and we carried on as normal! Not sure what caused it, but perhaps as her mouth was small she wasn't latching quite right.

Now however at 4.5 months we are in a routine, we demand feed and we are both happy :)

I read a lot of other mummy blogs and others who are the same age as Skye and I see they are all beginning to wean, but they are all formal fed babies. I'm waiting until 6 months to wean her properly but she does have the odd tastes of foods now and again!

Any other breast feeding mamas out there waiting to wean, or already weaning their bubs?
