What We Wear.

Skye is only 3.5 years old but she definitely already has her own way that she likes to dress!

I always want to encouraged Skye to explore with her style and dress in a way that she likes to dress.

I remember when I was growing up, I had my own style, but was always afraid to wear what I wanted, just incase. I remember so many times putting on one outfit and loving it and then when my mum said we were leaving the house, I would rush upstairs and change. I was always afraid of what people would say! I gradually came out of this phase at around the time I was leaving school, but still was quite reserved in my clothing choices!

Now as an adult, I hate that I didn't express myself more, and show more of who I was when I was growing up. I hate that others made me feel that I couldn't be myself.

I remember being probably 14/15 and going to Bristol with my sister, and some girls walking behind us, spoke very loudly, obviously so we could hear (well done girls!) saying we were greebers. What the eff is a greeber?!! We were also called goths, avril lavigne.. the list goes on.. all as you can tell super original insults! However I didn't take it as an insult. I was pretty chuffed that I was different enough to get a reaction! I was just glad that they felt the need to comment, because it meant I wasn't like them!

This is something I would like Skye to be able to do. I want her to feel comfortable being different if she chooses to be, I want her to be happy to shrug off other peoples comments.

I know I spent far too long worrying about what other people would think, even being too afraid to wear my hair in a different way, just incase!

I hope to raise Skye to know that everyone is different, and however they choose to dress shouldn't affect how you treat them.

Thanks for reading! x

Manic Panic - Purple Haze Dye -

For a long time now I have wanted to dye my hair a crazy bright colour, but having dark hair I know the chances of this ever happening (without mega bleaching and ruining my hair) are very slim!
My hair had become very light at the ends though from when I had previously lightened it about 2 years ago! People often thought I had ombre'd my hair, but nope it was just a grown out mess!!

I had been eyeing the Manic Panic dyes for a long time now as they do some amazing colours and they are completely safe to use when pregnant/breastfeeding. They are vegan friendly, and the best part, not tested on animals!

They are also semi permanent and fade slowly with each wash.

I decided to go for Purple Haze as I thought even if it stayed dark with a purple tint that would still look cool, and as the ends of my hair were so light I figured it would at least show up a bit more on the tips!

You apply the dye to freshly washed and dried hair, leave on for 30 mins and voila!

I was so happy with how it turned out! It looks so different it different lighting and I love it!!
Also it doesn't have that horrible hair dye smell and didn't take forever to rinse out either.

I'm also looking forward to seeing how it looks after a few washes as well!

Have you tried Manic Panic? :)

Nova Harley Boho Changing Bag.

Since Skye has become older, I have felt less need to carry around her baby changing bag, we have always just kept it in the car but never really used it. I always found myself cramming everything we would need in to my handbag, and although we didn't need the baby stuff anymore, we still needed to take a fair few things for a day out with her!

I always found myself getting annoyed when paying for things or searching for my phone, having to dig around a million things to get to the bottom of my bag!

So began my search for a better alternative to a baby changing bag and a mummy handbag!

Then one night I had an email from a baby site and one of the items in the email was this bag!!
I'd never heard of the brand before, but the practicality of this bag was so appealing!

Now let me tell you, it is on the pricey side.. well for me it is anyway! But I loved how simple it was. I'm not one for fussy designs on bags or too much detailing so this was perfect!

It is called the Nova Harley Boho Bag.

It comes with extra straps, shorter ones to hang on to your pushchair or a longer adjustable one.
It also comes with a thermal bottle holder and a changing mat, which all clips inside the bag.

Inside the bag is super impressive!! It has a separate pocket for just about anything you would need to  carry! And also a section just for mum!

I love how it keeps everything separate, and there's also a separate zipped pouch for dirty things! The whole of this section is held in with poppers so you can simply un pop them and you have a big bag just for you! And I'm sure all us women can agree, a handbag can never be too big!

I'm looking forward to filling this bag with all our essentials when we go out and having everything in one place, and not worrying about what to leave in the car!

This is the inside section once it has been removed from the bag.
